Hello…readers.
First, I’d like to appreciate all readers of this blog- consistent readers and
you, who stumbled upon this post. Thanks!
Yea,
today is my birthday and I seem to have a weird list of wishes, and this seems
to be the one that tops them all, in relation to the weirdness or ‘wiredness’
of the wishes. I WANT NEW CELLS.
I
don’t mean that I want to become a newborn with no memory ties or something
completely right winged like that. All I want is some fresh stem cells, more
like embryonic stem cells that can differentiate into any type of cells.
You
know, I was checking up this stem cell research thing the other day and I discovered
that embryonic stem cells are quite different from adult cells in that they can
differentiate into ANY cell type; while adult stem cells can differentiate only
into cells of the organs where they are found.
With
the controversial nature of the embryonic stem cell research, with moralists,
fundamentalists, as well as politicians taking advantage of its ethical value
at the expense of rewarding research, with my newly-acquired stem cells, I should
be able to contribute positively to the welfare of modern scientific embryonic
stem cell research.

HAPPY
BIRTHDAY TO ME!
Oh…and
besides that, does anyone have the answers to any of these questions?
1. Are
all neonatal cells (cells of the newborn) new?
2. Do
cells have surface-recognition antigens or something, that signal the beginning
of a new year to the cells…or is age truly just a number to cells?
