What
keeps a man alive?
What
made Paul say: “For I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from his love.
Death can't, and life can't. The angels won't, and all the powers of hell
itself cannot keep God's love away. Our fears for today, our worries about
tomorrow, 39 or where we are-high above the sky, or in the deepest
ocean-nothing will ever be able to separate us from the love of God
demonstrated by our Lord Jesus Christ when he died for us.”?
He
was ABSOLUTELY (emphasis on absolutely) sure that nothing could separate us
from the love of God. Does this mean that no matter who I am, where you are,
and what we’ve done, we are not inaccessible to the love of God?
I’ve
tried to no avail to find something that we would possess physically,
regardless of being dead or alive (a key criterion for the impossibly unending
love of God). Truth is, I couldn’t come up with one (well, am really not that
smart so I’d appreciate kind comments).
I’d
love to explain that we are not inaccessible to our brain tissue, regardless of
whom we are, whether slave or free, educated or uneducated, in the sea or on
land and whether we were dead or alive. Truth is, I can’t. Or I could say that nothing
can separate us from the pumping capacity of our heart, and whether we were
dead or alive, we would still have blood flowing in our veins. No I can’t!
Neither can we live without breathing. Maximally, we would live for a few
proven seconds/minutes/hours under such conditions, but once one is certified
clinically and legally dead, well…he/she is so separated from the things that sustain
the lives of humans.
In
effect and as a matter of fact, the human body is still temporal.
However,
we are all spirit beings, and my interpretation of Paul’s conviction is that we
ALL have access to God’s love, even those who are dead in sin!
May
the love of God see you through...and through.
