A TRUE LOVE, A SINCERE WRONG, A WORTHY EXIT-Daloy Stiz

Love, Oh my love, My dearest love, My honey Sweetie pie, Honey, and many other golden pleasantries Persisted for one-and-a-half years that seemed like centuries I truly erotically loved Juliet Though not yet a start but a starlet Did I not hear God clearly? Or I took the message so barely? It was one of those messages that holds life I started after one year of spiritual relationship without strife By his grace I got her a Bible Made me seem so reliable Then I got her gifts that seemed more attractive than the Bible- Now this made me seem bankable But ever before all these, he said: ‘Make her a friend, she has 3 out of 5 things your wife would have’ I was calm about it but was not so sure of what afterwards, I heard He also said ‘I don’t want you to get something like it and not the very it’ All these I heard in prayer sessions Though a voice kept saying ‘she is the one’ outside the sessions And I despised the voice and prayed that it should reside Behold it did su

Ceaser's Portion

'Give to Caeser the things that are Caeser's , and give to God the things that are God's.' Mark 12:17 Spirituality sometimes beclouds our reasoning so much that we assume that praying, fasting and studying of God’s word means we do not have to work hard. Frankly, the fact that you preach God’s word with so much fervor doesn’t give you the autonomy of being lazy at your job. It is Caeser’s portion. God is not pleased with laziness- it is diligence, not spirituality, that makes one stand before kings and not ordinary men. In actual fact, hardworking, unspiritual men and women excel because the law of sowing and reaping is super-real. Shouldn’t Christians actually be better employees/workers? Hard work cannot be substituted for spiritual sensitivity, and vice versa. This week, let us remember that as we work at our different jobs. Happy New Week!

NOTABLE QUOTES: SELF DISCIPLINE- Ayobami Olafimihan

Hi guys! Today's notable quotes are on self-discipline and as we know, getting to the top in our respective fields need a whole lot of self discipline. Enjoy and ruminate upon them... “In reading the lives of great men, I found that the first victory they won was over themselves..., self-discipline with all of them, came first.” ~Harry S Truman “I think self-discipline is something, it's like a muscle. The more you exercise it, the stronger it gets.” ~Daniel Goldstein “Self-discipline is an act of cultivation. It require you to connect today's actions to tomorrow's results. There's a season for sowing a season for reaping. Self-discipline helps you know which is which.” ~Gary Ryan Blair “Work while you work, play while you play - this is a basic rule of repressive self-discipline.” ~Theodor Adorno “The ability to make yourself do what you should do, when you should do it, whether you feel like it or not.” ~Ellbert Hubbard “Self-discipline is often disguised

DOKITA-2

EPISODE 4 A man walks, into the emergency room one sunny Sunday afternoon. He speaks, to one of the nurses ‘Please, can I see a doctor?’ The nurse looks up briefly from her charting, and after giving him one all-over look, she decides that this man, isn’t critical. Do you have a file in this hospital? He looks at her, desperation on his face ‘…what? Oh no, I don’t. This is my first time here, but I need to see a doctor.’ He pauses as he tries to read the look on her face; then says: ‘Its urgent’ The sister sighs. ‘Here, I get to decide what is urgent.’ ‘Please go over to that section by your right and get a file. The doctor has to write in a case note.’ ‘I’m telling you…’ his voice trailed into the background as the nurse continues her charting. She is about to clock out, and isn’t about to let this man be a stumbling block. No way. ***************************************************************** There was pandemonium. In his own pool of blood, a man lay on the floor

20 QUOTES ON PRAYER

‘No learning can make up for the failure to pray. No earnestness, no diligence, no study, no gifts will supply its lack.’-E.M Bounds ‘Heaven is full of answers to prayer for which no one bothered to ask.’- Billy Graham ‘…True prayer is measured by weight, not by length. A single groan before God may have more fullness of prayer in it than a  fine oration of great length.’- C.H Spurgeon ‘Prayer is not learned in the classroom but in the closet.’- E.M Bounds ‘I have seen many men work without praying, though I have never seen any good come out of it; but I have never seen a man pray without working.’- James Hudson Taylor ‘If Christians spent as much time praying as they do grumbling, they would soon have nothing to grumble about.’- Anonymous ‘Prayer is not asking. It is a longing of the soul. It is daily admission of one’s weakness. It is better in prayer to have a heart without words than words without a heart.’- John Bunyan ‘Prayer does not change God, but it changes him who pr

GRIT by Ayobami Olafimihan

The first round of the twelve for the year 2017 has ended, yeah, the first lap is over. How well did you fare? Like me, you probably made resolutions at the beginning of the year about things you wanted to improve on and do differently. Goals and dreams you want to make a reality, life styles and habits that need some tweaking. However it did go, you must keep on keeping on. You must not fail to keep the end goals (your resolutions) in mind. Your actions need to be consistently aligned with these intentions of yours. In staying this course for the next 10 months, you need a ton of GRIT- perseverance and passion for long term goals. Perseverance in rolling with the punches and passion to keep putting your  best foot forward. Every growth has its pain. "MEDIOCRITY IS A REGION BORDERED ON THE NORTH BY COMPROMISE, ON THE SOUTH BY INDECISION, ON THE EAST BY PASTTHINKING, AND ON THE WEST BY A LACK OF VISION. -John Mason " to the Hardworkers, the Goal getters & the

Lateral Thinking with FEMI OLADELE

Blessed trinity; how many times and in how many ways? How convenient it is for me to try to estimate the virtues that the presence of GOD exudes; in ignorance obviously. Can you imagine the power of HIS might? And HE took me through a journey of understanding and I failed HIS test, because my human ability is frail and fails. Only a supernatural understanding of GOD as the three-in-one GOD appearing as: Our help in ages past; Our hope for years to come; and Our very present help in time of need. If you therefore need help, fetch from the fullness thereof; it is inexhaustible yet with a price. Many misconstrue the gifts of GOD as free; I presume, it is cheap and affordable but not free. The difference between HIM and his arch rival is that the latter charges high interests like Deposit Money Banks (DMBs) in Nigeria. GOD pays premium however; if you have to choose; choose LIFE and BLESSING. It is not without challenges that this life we live, that I live, actually.

ON, VALENTINE by OLADIPO ABIMBOLA

The glorious frenzy of love with undiluted passion The various hearts of love with unprecedented actions Howbeit, many could not forget, so much a risk And haters could not deny heart reflexes so brisk Oh lovely Valentine, your day is a melody that sways A generation of forceful love A repercussion of willful hate. Claudius and Death fought Valentine and failed Asterius and fear bought Valentine and wailed The blind eyes of a little girl opened its shutter As your kind hands were laid at His orders Oh Holy Valentine, your life was a colony of pure love Tade’s love waiting impatiently at the mall With diaphoresis and ectasy, expecting his call He managed to beat the drudgery of the nasty traffic Approaching with poise carriage and fashion boots I wish they both make a delectable memory of lovebirds Oh happy Valentine, you ar e the approved romantic God would never deny

ANOXIC JESUS

The most uninterested person in science knows, that we all need oxygen- or air, containing oxygen; to  survive; an absence of which results in deterioration of bodily functions, brain death and cardiac death. Point is, no oxygen equals no life. And that, is the exact implication of anoxia. Enough about oxygen. Switching over to Jesus. We might have to put on our calculatory boots for this little exercise. Jesus was dead for 3 days. 3 days, of absolute lack of oxygen, 3 days, of anoxia and tissue/organ death. His brain cells, should no longer be viable. But, as we know, he resurrected from anoxia to full perfusion of body organs, from a GCS of zero, to one of 15. Absolutely impossible, if considered logically; but makes sense if considered supernaturally. Daily, during my study of the Bible, I receive fresh insight on the healings performed by Jesus. Case study: the woman, with menorrrhagia (issue of blood). Mark, records that she had suffered in the hands of doctors. SUFFE

DOKITA-2

CHAPTER 3 To be free, was a luxury in Dr. Raymond’s books. After a neck-breaking week, he was obviously glad to have been relieved of his ‘enviable’ duties. This weekend, he had taken a sacred vow to flex. And yes, he had perfectly outlined his flexing plans, on his way he was. The boys were coming over to his place- a mix of refined gentlemen with a knack for savagery, when stimulated by booze and wild talk. He shook his head as he remembered all the fun the guys had brought him, over the years; and they, had always been the surest guys to help him through his medical troubles. Walking out of the emergency room, he heard his name. ‘Dr! Dr! Sir!’ He turned back. A young, pregnant lady, in her mid-twenties. She was beaming with smiles. That, was good. ‘Doctor!’ He could barely recognize her, but he was sure they had met somewhere, not too long ago. ‘Doctor, do you remember me?’ Raymond smiled, albeit politely. ‘Errhm…not really. I’m sorry.’ ‘No problem. You remember th

The Falling Parading Angels by BIODUN ABIOYE

Domino Effect? Ripple Effect? 'All boring mechanical engineering stuff' I suppose...but on the parade ground it became more practical, than ever.                        Harsh soldiers I suppose? Brittle corps you guess? But it all pointed to just one fact; feeble minds who just wanted a space in the pavilion!          Just an hour of parade, though tiredness was clearly registered on the faces of members of the group, not one person fell to the ground. One case too genuine, she fainted. 'That's some strong guy' the group murmured as he carried her out of the ground for the application of first aid. He wasn't a samaritan but a fellow corps member.      Little wonder my mind was ringing 'If you fall in front of me, we'd fall together, No time'. Buoyed by the surpassing event, almost every lady parading was left with some 'Ashley young' esque (Manchester United fans should understand this better) and every guy with some energized bice

WHEN DISTANCE HAPPENED

Hello! His voice was cracked; ‘Where did you keep the keys?’ Hello! His voice; embittered- ‘When are you fixing dinner?’ Hello! His voice, an urgent mess ‘Sheila has been vomiting all day’ So, I wondered; When would you call, just to say hi? The space, gaping like a burst abdomen, Staring, this girth with unsutured edges The tape rule has never lied, Mathematics didn’t call a truce- Palpable, this distance is.

DISTANT’E

You feel distant Striking me, that confusion- Coz distance, is not a feeling; Measured space, it is; And so; you measure- a protractor you use; Realization dawns- Mathematics has no deceit, We had been equi-distant

EARLY DROUGHT AND WRATH: Femi Oladele

Sequel, to last Thursday's article, on lateral thinking. Mighty works he hath wrought; many words he hath spoken. Why then do I feel there is drought? HE does mighty things; that is unquestionable. Why do we take delivery by deliberate action? Does a father have a need for wrath and/or chastisement? Even in the eye of the storm, comes the ever challenging drill; Why are you here? HE does unspeakable things; and shows it to HIS elect. Why does HE expect a resounding on rooftops? After all, we all can get angry and deny ourselves of earthly victuals, Yet we see HIM place demands through it all. At the end, when we see HIM, that is if we see HIM. I have questions that seem like may take forever to answer. Yet HE chuckles; the answers are in my WORD. But I retort; I want to hear you say it; I would prefer to wait till then. HE adamantly insists; isn’t that a repetition? Just let it go… Now, I see clearly, there was never a drought; yet my wrath made it seem impossible.
